Lyric is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter and producer from the Gold Coast, who entrances audiences with her relatable lyricism and innovative production quality.
One of her first singles, 'remember everything', was aired on Triple J Unearthed Radio, with Unearthed music director Dave Ruby Howe dubbing it a "classy and emotive track" that emulates "Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish". In mid 2022, she released '1985'. The song reached #3 on the AMRAP Regional Radio Charts, and received airplay on stations such as Radio Adelaide, Fleurieu FM, and radio interviews on 4ZZZ. She followed this up with her debut EP 'every colour, every hue' in March of 2023, a body of work that takes listeners through the different shades of emotions we experience as humans. The record surpassed 170K streams and sold out her debut headline show at the HOTA Basement. In September of 2023, she released her TikTok viral single 'Wine Stain', a fiery pop power ballad about falling in love with a villain that has surpassed 550K views on the app. She has now returned with her synth-pop anthem 'Gravity', a witty song that details Lyric's grand scheme to make someone else fall in love with her.
Writing songs for as long as she's been able to pick up a pen, she now crafts her tunes from the comfort of her home studio, having self-taught herself how to produce. She recently took home two coveted awards at the Gold Coast Music Awards, opened the Mainstage of the SPRINGTIME Festival, and opened for artists such as Mallrat. Lyric demands attention for her expressive voice and innate gift for storytelling. With a strongly growing social media presence and an incredibly passionate fanbase, Lyric is certain to be an artist to keep a keen eye on in 2024.
